As a freshman at UNC in 2013-14, averaged 18.0 ppg., 5.4 rpg., 2.6 apg. and 1.7 spg.; shot 42.6 percent from the field and 77.6 percent from the line.

Averaged 21.3 ppg. during the 2014 ACC Tournament, earning all-tourney accolades.

In her two years on the court at Tennessee, the Lady Vols posted a 42-26 record and advanced to the 2016 and 2017 NCAA Tournaments.  

In her final season, led UT with 17.4 ppg. and was named 2017 All-Southeastern Conference first team.

Traded to the Phoenix Mercury in 2022.

Appeared in 30 games for Phoenix in 2022, averaging 13.1 Pts, 3.8 Reb, and 2.2 Ast.

Drafted: No. 3 in 2018 by the Chicago Sky.

All-WNBA second team: 2019.

WNBA All-Rookie Team: 2018.

WNBA All-Star: 2019

Played in 13 games in 2020 and averaged 6.8 ppg.

Averaged a league eighth-best 16.2 ppg. to go with 5.5 rpg., 2.4 apg. and 1.3 apg. in 2019.

Scored 25 points against Phoenix to help lead the Sky into the second round of the 2019 WNBA playoffs.

In her first season in the WNBA, averaged 14.4 ppg., 4.9 rpg. and 2.2 apg. while starting in 33 of 34 games played.

DeShields graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2017 and competed professionally in 2017-18 for Mersin in Turkey where she averaged 17.4 ppg., 6.4 rpg. and 3.8 apg.



2018-21 USA NATIONAL TEAM:

Aided the USA to a 3-0 record in 2019 FIBA Americas Pre-Olympic Qualifying Tournament games in Bahia Blanca, Argentina; averaged 10.7 ppg. and 5.3 rpg.

Member of the 2019 USA AmeriCup Team that finished with a 6-0 record and the gold medal at the FIBA AmeriCup in San Juan, Puerto Rico; started all six games and averaged team second-bests of 9.8 ppg. and 3.3 apg., and was named to the all-tournament team.

Named to the 2019-20 USA National Team on March 12, 2019.


HONORS:

2019 FIBA AmeriCup All-Star Five, 2012 FIBA U17 World Cup MVP and All-Star Five.
